For those of you who may be envious of the S4 - S3 upgrade news

It's officially past the rumor stage and lots of discussions have broken out in the SGS4 forum, with plenty of SGS3 owners there, as the op wanted to hear from.

Let's call this one good then - cheers! :)

Im guessing the "air touch" or whatever is a hardware thing n not portable to the s3?
Theres not much else that really interests me tbh

wow I didn't know all that stuff was improved in the S4. I'm kind of excited to see all of the new things now

I personally would like to see some of the camera features on the S4 come to the S3, but I doubt we get much here in the USA. They seem to leave us out of many of those things.

That transparent, I can swear I was running a ROM with that option just a few weeks ago. I forgot the name, though. Anyway, the S4 looks a very good phone and I'd definitely buy it if I had the money. Still, the S3 works just fine for now, so I better off waiting for the S5.

One thing I noticed, they changed the numeration from Roman to numeric. It's S4 and not S IV lol

If we get the delete functions of the camera software I'd be happy.

It won't be right away, because the carriers want us to buy the s4, but ill be pleasantly surprised when it happens.

Is that where it takes a burst of shots to make one pic then u can delete some to make it perfect?

Yeah, say if someone walks through background of the photo or does the popular "photobomb" itll still blend all of those bursts together but you can remove that person from the resulting picture.

Not an everyday use kind of feature (most of samsungs addons arent for me), but it could still prove useful.

i just saw the replay of the live event it aired at like 4:30 am here so didnt watch it live. It sounds like a great phone and i totally intend to buy it although i am not making the mistake i did with the s3 and buy it within a month or so of launch makes more sense to wait for the 32gb to come and get that directly. I am assuming the pricing of the international version will be along the same lines that the s3 was at launch(39,000 rupees). So hopefully will be able to get about 18,000 to 20,000 rupees for my s3 in exchange.

Yeah, im not much of a feature user tbh.. like, they sound good but then wen i get them, i dont really use them lol :)
Wish the s3 had the infrared led :(

That would be a feature I would like. When using a browser, I would like the air touch hovering over an item to be interpreted as a mouse over. Right now, the current mouse over gesture is unintuitive and requires some timing to pull off properly.

the IR sensor was honestly the most shocking feature of the s4. IR is more or less outdated on phones now days i remember in the old days with my nokia 6610 sitting in front of the pc and keeping the phone totally still to send a midi file via IR to the phone. One features i wish so much they had put was a damn camera button i mean how hard is it to add a camera button to the phone. It is my biggest issue with the s2 and the s3 and now the s4 and im quite sure it will go on to the s5 and on wards cause i dont see sammy adding it and changing their design.

The thing with IR is, yeah i remember all phones had it and bluetooth took over, but tv's, hifi, etc didnt make the change so its genius for a phone to still have it :)

The air touch (forgot the real name lol) could be used in great ways that i cant imagine.. everything could have a secondary function, touching or not touching. Game dev's could probably think of some cool uses :)

It's not an IR sensor, it's an IR Blaster, which is different. This one can be used to control devices which use infrared to communicate (TVs, DVDs, etc.) which is a great idea.

thanks for the correction sherlock my bad didnt know it was a different thing. I remember in the 6600 i could do it also with the IR sensor that was there on it.
