Help Force Roam

I have the Sprint Galaxy S3 16gb. I was wondering if there is anyway to force the phone to roam. When I am at work I get 9kbs, so that really doesn't do so much for me. Thanks for any help
 
Does your work have WiFi?

If the phones rooted you can probably force roam depending on what your phones devs have done so far
 
hi guys/gals...

I have Sprint GS3
rooted.. running "the people's rom 3.09"

today.. at home.. talked to sprint CS..
they say the tower for my area is down... for up to 72 hrs.
it is bad.. causing dropped calls and hard to make calls.
battery died last night in 8 hrs on stand by.. (guessing searching for service)
i have noticed if i keep trying to call a number after it fails.. it will ask me to ROAM, and the call goes through; and it is clear. this does not help for incoming calls.

but i need to make calls for work.

I want to force it to Roam... at least for until the tower is back up.
how can i set it to stay on roaming network??
 
There used to be a few force roam type apps that would allow you to choose which carrier and tower you wanted to hook up with. One of them "may" still be around but isn't easy to find. I believe the carriers are against this for several reasons, one being they likely incur higher costs when their clients roam, especially in high data environments. I can see feasible uses for such a thing in certain situations, especially if there is a tower down, etc.
