Help force romaing only for sprint android phone

Looking for tweak to allow "roam only" mode or to modify the roaming algorithm in the phone to work better.

It does not have to be a free app, I would pay $20 or so for a solution. If anyone has one, would appreciate.

I was able to change registry on HTC Touch Pro, not sure if anything similar on droid.

Yes, I travel a lot of country roads, and "roam only" would be a great option to have. I used to use it all the time on my treo.

Bump once again for how awesome this app would be. Not being able to force roaming makes this phone a headache. I also used it on my Treo on a regular basis.

I'm going to try and hire someone to write me an app that will improve the roaming. I hope to be able to get it done for less than the cost of the several pieces of wireless equipment it will take me to circumvent the problem in my office building.

If I do get a solution, I'll share it. I don't know if it necessarily has to be "roam only" but it would be good to be able to adjust the signal threshold at which point the roaming kicks in.
