Forced roaming?

Been googling for over an hour to find a simple app with a widget thatll let me force my phone to roam, does one even exist.

Case is my provider (Oister) has perfect data coverage, but when im inside my house, i have such poor connection that i cant make calls without being cut off so i have to redial and thrughout the call therell be massive dropouts.

However my provider has free roaming thru another provider (TDC) which has perfect coverage accross the whole country.....well for making calls its perfect, because their data coverage downright sux. X-)

Problem is that my phone (SGS2) doesnt roam until the signal has been totally missing for about 1-2 full minutes and that hardly ever happens. *sigh*

So what i want is a widget that allows me to simply force my phone to use the roaming network when im at home, so far its the only place i dont get proper signal from Oister anyways.

I found one app so far that turned out not to be compatible with my phone and another which required rooting.

Then i found a third one (Network Switcher Pro) which i cant download because the links for the download dont work.

Hopefully someone in here will have the magic solution to this issue. :)

Oh btw, i contacted both Samsung and Oister complaining about the roaming issue, like how the phone can be set to roam on less reason, like when the signal drops below -95dbm it shd roam as that would be adequate.

Oister says its Samsungs problem as its the device that controls the roaming functionality and surprisingly Samsung says its Oisters problem as THEY control the roaming functionality. :hmmmm2:

Well, you could go into the network selection menu and manually select the roaming network. I'd think that would do it, but you've have to go back there to set it to automatic when away from home, so it's not all that convenient. I don't know whether your home network would take kindly to you roaming 100% of the time - I've heard of networks that object to that and cut people off, so I expect you do want to switch back when away from home.

Thx Hadron. :-)

Well the reason i want an app and preferably a widget is for the reason u mention, that its pretty inconvinient to navigate to the network settings and force roaming in there each time i get home and the other way around each time i leave. :-/

The app i mentioned (Network Switcher Pro) could be set up to select different networks depending on ur location, time schedule etc.

Unfortunately that link didnt work, it wouldve solved the issue totally if i could set it to go by location as my home address when im inside the house, is where i mainly have the problem.

So far i havent had issues with roaming for hrs and i did try and force it on to the other network couple of days ago and it worked just fine, problem is though, that i dont have any data coverage.....well i get EDGE most of the time on that network, but phone coverage is execellent. :-D
