I am just needing it extracted, the archive manager in my os isn't getting past the second level of zips

I guess it wasent a 8960 by looking at, I am going to add are defconfig to warplte kernel an see what happens

The warp 4g has an 8960 config. You would have to write some of the modules in. I know for a fact that our Wi-Fi module is missing from it

that is true an its 8930 kernel, but there defconfigs are marked as 8960. so I am going to wing it an see what happens, I lost track where I was at with the sony. the 8930 one may be closer an need less moding

So far from what I've seen every divce that uses our Wi-Fi module is stuck at ICS. This may be why ZTE never upgraded us. I've been trying to find an updated module to write into the Elden source but have not had any luck, so I really hope your approach of using a more modern kernel solves the issue

Not 100% but I believe they are all the same. All 8960s that I am aware of use kernel version 3.4. What I was trying to find was an updated module that I could back port into 3.0.8, but have had no luck. Right now it looks like someone is going to have to do some serious work to make kernel 3.4 compatible with this device.
