Forecast: $100 price drop by Winter

Not shocking at all. You can already order it from Verizon online with a coupon code for $140 (subsidized on contract) today.

I think it's to pimp out the wood plates later in the year as I'm sure they will be considered the premium option.

You mean like every other Android phone that drops in price a short time after its initial release? Yeah, we pay a premium to be early adopters... always been that way!

Yea...I'm hearing rumors this might happen sooner now ...I hate when they do this ....they should give money back to people who paid 200....if it happen in like the first month....yea i know that would be crazy....the HTC first was 99 and like 2 days later it was like 99 cents ....but we know the reason for that ... Actually that wasn't a bad phone besides all that facebook crap ....it was running a almost complete stock android under that home stuff... But the price drop is great if ya didn't get a moto x yet ....its a great phone ...if your a fan of plain android

O and I only hate it cause I bought the phone already ...lol....I wouldnt be crying right now if I still had to buy it

Big deal. Phone prices always go down. I paid $140 for mine with the discount and that extra $40 is well worth having the phone in my hand right now instead of dealing with the lag and crappy battery of my Rezound.

Plus, all that is speculation. You think when Verizon opens motomaker, they are going to drop the price as well? Fat chance.

What is the discount you used to pay $140? I wonder if I could get them to credit me $60

Late October at the earliest, maybe early November. Probably right around the time of a Nexus 5 announcement / release.

(at least that's my completely baseless wild speculation :)

Well now it seems new customers who chooses Sprint can get it for $99 starting tomorrow (Friday).

Sprint Moto X launches tomorrow; $99 for new customers only | Android and Me

Having been a Sprint customer for 12 years now, I'd rather pay $199 for one on AT&T. I'm trying to hold out until the wood backs become available, and through December every month I wait reduces my ETF by $20. *twiddles thumbs*

PS: Oh, and all other things being equal, I'd be as happy with one on VZW. I have access to a better service discount with AT&T though.
