foreign operator desire

hi guys i have a desire which boots up with "tim" operator logos stuff. i want to make it a stock uk rom. is it a case of rooting the flashing a ruu to take me back to uk stock?

I would imagine you are rooted. Do you have Superuser app installed?

Rooting and RUUs are different things. You can flash an RUU without rooting, and indeed an RUU will unroot the phone.

If it's a TIM handset (Italian) then you'll need a Goldcard in order to flash a stock WWE (World Wide English) RUU to debrand it. The possible exception is the android 2.3 upgrade RUU, which works on many networks without a goldcard. I don't know whether that includes TIM, but if not it should just refuse to run (cid error) so it should do no harm to try.

ok cool guys , no im not rooted, and its actually a deice s but my experience with my desire i no ill get more help from u guys!

ok ill try a gold card and flash the wwe english ruu
