Root Forgot to backup before rooting

After several hours I finally got my Droid (2.1) rooted. I was having trouble getting RSDLite to recognize my phone. I finally switched computers and it only took 10 minutes. Unfortunately I rooted before I could make a backup in SPRecovery. Is this a problem if I need to Unroot later?

It's been a while since I rooted. I don't believe that you could back up before rooting. Only rooting gets you access to recovery.

But now you can back up your rooted ROM. Recommend doing that if you haven't.

I think the best way to answer your question is to say, The only thing you could've "backed up" before rooting was your apps. If you're not missing them (or their settings), than you're good to go. Apps can always be reloaded and set back up.

I highly recommend you buy Titanium Backup Pro and start backing up all of your apps and their associated data (settings).

Also, make sure you're using SPRecover or ClockworkMod Recovery to perform complete backups from time-to-time, or before flashing anything new to your DROID (i.e. a new ROM, a kernel, a theme, etc...).

Thanks for the advice. I bought Titanium Backup Pro and did an immediate backup. I then installed 2.2 (my main reason for rooting). It's working great. My market apps redownloaded without any problem. However, when I started up UltraNotes my data files were gone. I started TBPro and recovered my data. So it paid off from day 1. :D
