Help Format bar

I have owned an S6 for about five months. When I got it, when I was typing a message, above the keyboard was a "format bar"; ie, allowed you to underline, italicize, make words bold etc. Much like the format bar here when I am composing this message.
About two weeks it suddenly disappeared on me; ie, wasn't there any more. Any suggestions as to how I could get it back?

Look in the Keyboard Settings. On my S6 there is nowhere a format bar. But i can look. Just wait a moment !

Okay, so on my S6 there was no Setting for a format bar.
My S6 is on Android 7.0
I can't help you sorry. Maybe Google now the answer
