Former blackberry user. need some help

Dpopps

Newbie
The only smart phone I have used was a blackberry for the last 4 years.
I need a little help, I am lost. I have been doing ok finding some things and getting around, but have some questions.

I do not see any spot for me to be able to push my emails. I am used to getting emails instantly. I only see for it to check every 15min.

I also have more than one email account, but they are all in one folder. Is that a way to put them in sperate icons?

I am trying to get used to the keyboard, but not sure if its going to work out.

On my old phone when I went to make a call I had it set to show recent and sent call, when opening. Is there a way to set that?
Is there a app or anything close to blackberry messenger?

I will say this phone is really fast and smooth. So far I am happy with, just need to work out a few kinks.

For your email problem, it depends on the email app to if it can instantly push them or if you have to check every 15 minutes or whatever. I know for my school email, which is hosted by outlook, has push emails so that it instantly comes though. And I'm using the stock email app, not the gmail one. Also with the stock email app, you can long press on your homescreen, select shortcuts, select Email account, and then it should have all the email accounts that are associated with the stock email app. Not sure if that was exactly what you were asking but maybe it helped out. The fact is blackberry always has had the best email management

With the keyboard, i agree the stock one is completely awful. I dislike it greatly. I'm using swiftkey 3 right now, still not a huge fan cause I'm not a fan of its predictions, I prefer typing entire words and can usually do it quicker, but don't like the layout of the keyboard on it very much, but better than the stock one. My favorite one is the stock ICS one, but the ones on the market just aren't as good, and I don't really like that it wasn't included on the phone. I'll probably check them out again though, I've always preferred the stock android keyboards ever since I had my captivate on 2.1.

And finally, if you press the phone shortcut on your homescreen, and click "logs" at the top of the app, it will open it to that screen next time you open it. Not sure how long it stays like that but it seems to stay that way for awhile.

Former BB user here too. I'd guess around five years or so. I am surprised at how easy the transition for me has been. I was probably most concerned about the keyboard but am managing and improving daily.

I also have two email accounts that I keep on the main home screen. To sort, open an email app, look in the upper left corner and go with either a combined view (which you have) or go with either one or the other.
