Help Former Windows User needs help!

Hi,

I am not a troll, I jumped on board the Android roller coaster (almost) willingly. It was to give support to someone else, who would ask me questions.

My experiences with 'droid have not been pleasant ones! First with my son (temporarily), then with She who must be obeyed, and now mine!

My issue, which I currently need help with is the acceptance of all the contact details from the Live account on the droid phone. The most important ones are missing. It claims that everything is in sync, which it isn't.

How do I " persuade" 'droid to give me access to all the Microsnot contacts? It has a form of access - it can read emails and show the non-essential names.

The set-up on Windows was so easy, as was the sync capabilities. Colleagues tell me that ' droid is so much better. Please help me find it!

It is almost certain that I will be asking for help again!

Thanks very much and best regards

Thanks very much for the quick response.

I have imported the contacts

I had hoped to have continued using the Live account contacts, but alas it would appear that this is not possible!

Still it appears I have the correct contacts available.

Best regards

Android devices I've seen do directly support Windows Live, although I've never tried it for myself. Is this where your Live contact were going missing?

And supports Microsoft Exchange and Office as well.

I have used my Live account to create a Google account. When I attempted to connect the Outlook app directly to the live account - it all went pear shaped! Not all the accounts were imported. The business accounts with a contact name are listed under the name (with no way of identifying Business or Personal entries.) And on, and on.

I will check to see if I can add directly the Live account (it could be I have made a mistake in the account linking) and let you know.

So grateful that this forum, is very much like all the others I have seen - accepting of people irrespective of their weirdness! (Non-Android forums!)

I knew it was going to be a roller-coaster ride

they let me on here, and that proves a lot :p

we all started at ground zero in life, and in every activity that we choose to do, we all have to learn the basics somehow. None of us became Android experts overnight.

Once upon a time, I used to think I could program a computer.... but that was 4 decades ago, and wow, have computers ever changed since then o_O

Hi,

Thanks very much for the help and responses to now.

I have checked the phone, and there is a "Microsoft Account" on the "Add an account" page. Every time I created the account, it does not appear on the connected page.

Of course the email address is the same for the Live account and the Google account - as well as the Outlook account. Is it possible this is having an impact on the lack of appearance?

So far after applying the import (which had no impact on the actual Google account) I gained the addresses on the Outlook Account. So at least it is a partial to 90% win!

Thanks & best regards
