Help forward key when not using predictive text

Hi all,

I have a question regarding texting on Samsung S3, Android 4.0.

I have predictive text turned off 'cos it annoys me and i'm a bit 'old school'. However, if i am typing a word which needs 2 letters from one key i.e "bat" i get into problems cos the key presses are 2,2-2-8.
My question is... how do I forward from the 'b' to be able to type the 'a' without waiting. I don't seem to be able to find a forward key.

Does that make sense?

I seems a really obvious thing but I just cant see it!!
Apologies if this has been already asked but i did a search and got a bit overwhelmed by the results.

Many thanks

Try tapping to the right of the last entered letter in the input box? That used to work on T9 I think.

Thanks XplosiV,

I've just tried that and all that happens is that the cut/paste thing comes up in the input box and the cursor doesn't automatically move to the next character.

Hmm, maybe im just too darn quick for my own good :)

There is a way to get arrow keys up on swiftkey flow, but it wouldnt be any faster I wouldn't expect.

If I tap quickly on any part of the input box, I get a cursor there, but if I long press i get the copy/paste menu up top.
