New to the forum and first Wear OS device.

Liking the watch so far but still fine tuning.

One issue I have is that I understand that the a long press of the crown should launch google assistance, when I do so I get a short vibrate but the assistant doesn't seem to launch and nothing changes on the screen. A longer press goes to the restart / turn off menu.

Is there an issue here or am I missing something?

Are you able to access the Assistant on your watch by swiping right from the left edge of the screen and then tapping the microphone icon?

Yes, that works fine.

it’s not much quicker to use the button but as it can’t be reassigned it’s annoying it doesn’t work.

Okay, good, I was just wanting to confirm that Assistant itself does seem to work correctly. I don't have a clue why Assistant wouldn't be responding to the long-press on the crown button. I don't have a Gen 5 Fossil to test with but it works fine on my Misfit Vapor X (basically a rebadged gen-4 Fossil Sport).

Have you checked in the Play Store on the watch to make sure everything is up to date?

Works fine on my Gen 5 Carlyle I don't understand why its not working on your watch though.
