Help FOTA update help re Desire S

Hi

Please can anyone offer some advice.

I have the Desire S on O2 and have suffered the issues in relation to the updated firmware release 1.47.206.2

http://androidforums.com/htc-desire-s/396171-signal-drops-completely-htc-desire-s.html

Fortunately I managed to return my phone to o2 early and the replacement had older firmware and my problems were resolved. I then turned off auto updates.

I have just checked manually and the following FOTA updates are shown as being available to me:

FOTA Client 513KB V2.3
FOTA Client user Interface on the phone

FOTA Scheduling Application 72KB V2.3
Scheduling the Check In Period

Is it safe to download these updates or will they be related to the dodgy firmware release and put me back to square one?

I am currently running:

Android Version: 2.3.3

HTC Sense Version 2.1

Baseband Version: 20.2b.30.0805U_38.03.02.14_M

Kernal Version:
2.6.35.10-g8ae2b2f

Build Number: 1.31.206.2 CL27073 release keys

Software Number: 1.31.206.2

Browser Version: Webkit/533.1

Many thanks in anticipation

I would think the prompt is for the 1.47.206.2 update as that's currently the only (and latest) update there is for O2 phones.

There will be a subsequent update to the Android OS, Sense and firmware, but this hasn't been released by O2 yet. If I were you, I'd wait until that has been released by O2 before accepting the FOTA.

Just to wrap this one up I called into the o2 shop to check it out.

They had no relevance to 1.47.206.2 and were simple security updates.

Both downloaded with no issues arising.:)
