Root Fox-fi - Wi-Fi tether apps not working!?!

Anyone here able to get Wi-Fi tether apps working? Nothing is working for me. I'm really starting to consider going back to v6. I think there is something in the code blocking them from working. Can someone please verify they have it working.

Battery life is terrible too. My battery did pretty good on the leak but so far it is horrible with the official release.

I haven't been able to get it to work either - removed and reinstalled but that doesn't help either. Bluetooth tether does turn on so that may be an option until they figure out what needs to be done - I haven't tested it yet.

I used foxfi for about 100mb monday on my spectrum then it quit. it just would not allow for an internet connection, work laptop remained connected but no internet. My work Lucid will not work with foxfi since the ics release either.

The built-in Mobile hotspot should be available free if you're on the new share-everything plans. There's no need to use FoxFi or any other app if you're on one of those plans.

Only folks who are still on grandfathered unlimited data plans need to worry about third-party apps. The loophole that FoxFi used to run the hotspot in the past appears to have been locked down with this release. PDAnet does ask you to run FoxFi on the phone to use WiFi so that won't help either.

At the moment it sounds like bluetooth and USB tethering should continue to work though I haven't had a chance to experiment on those yet.

I have also noticed the battery life is quite bad as well. It's unfortunate that I am unable to use the hotspot through foxfi as I rely on this while in the field...

As far as battery life Mine is still bad. Much worse than GB and even worse than the leak. I ran the leak for 6 days and got exceptional battery life. Weird how the battery is worse with the official version.

I'm getting exceptional battery life. I'm a pretty heavy user and I only used 60% battery in 13 hours.

My son said his battery life improved with ICS (not THAT good, though). I'm still on BO/BP since it'll probably take me a day to reload everything and I just don't have the time right now.

Not to derail and perhaps I missed this in another thread but is there a way to force or change data to 3G instead of always using 4G? I am thinking for the time being 3G might be a better option as I rarely need 4G unless I am in the field using the phone as a hotspot for my tablet.

If I could only turn off the automatic OTA update, fails on my ZV6, rooted/un-rooted (all-in-one). The pestering has caused me to go to Verizon, they couldn't get it updated either and LG is sending me a new phone. Any thoughts guys?
