Root Fox-fi - Wi-Fi tether apps not working!?!

I have not seen my battery life decrease. I went down 10% in standby overnight. I did freeze about 25 apps and was on WiFi. I read somewhere else you can't turn 4G off in ICS. Haven't confirmed this yet though.

Not to derail and perhaps I missed this in another thread but is there a way to force or change data to 3G instead of always using 4G? I am thinking for the time being 3G might be a better option as I rarely need 4G unless I am in the field using the phone as a hotspot for my tablet.

Yes, dial *#*#4636#*#* and select "phone Information". Then scroll down to the "LTE/CDMA/EvDo", click it and select "CDMA auto (PRL)". Done.

I do not deserve credit for this as I am not the one that found it. When I find the post for this I will link it here so they can get the credit they deserve.

Edit: AFBCamaro deserves the thanks for this. You can thank him here: http://androidforums.com/lg-spectrum/639402-3g-lte-options-ics.html#post5135536

Thank you for cross posting this.

My battery life is about the same as it was on GB (fully tweaked BO). I can get up to about 1.5 days, 1 day if I'm using GPS and Waze heavily. I haven't gotten around to freezing anything, just root and the unlocked bootloader.

I'm on a shared plan, fired up mobile hotspot and uploaded a 250mb test file to my server. It stayed up, but there were moments where it dropped to less than 1lb/sec on the upswing. I think there is something screwy with WiFi stack, imo.

I'm reinstalling Battery Graph now and should be able to post a log in a couple days.

But they are still working on the errors or something... as my post stated it was successful for me, but I would hate to find out data charges are hitting us because of those errors, or something like that.

Foxfi is not working on the spectrum since the ICS upgrade at all. Follow the link and read what needs to be done - it uses a beta release of Wifi Tether, which requires root.

I just upgraded to the Note 2 & didn't realize FoxFi won't work. :'( Glad to know it's not just my phone though. Hopefully FoxFi will be updated soon with the fix.
