Foxconn China plant closed after 2,000 riot

Dan Rather Reports had a story on this very plant about a year ago. Ironically, none of the employees who make these phones can afford to buy them. I would provide a link to the story, but all of archives are only available on....you guessed it......iTunes .

Here is a blurb on the story:
HDNet World Report – Your iPhone Makes Me Sick – AXS TV

I have never been a huge fan of Rather's but his news stories show both sides and let you decide on who's right and who's wrong. I wish I could edit out the Prostitute part, but I have no control over it.

Here is another story I found that could explain the riots:

Shouldn't need a law to get people to treat other people like human beings.

I agree, but that is China for you. Not at all like the US of A. It took laws as I recall to end child labor laws and many laws that protect workers.

I do wonder what China would do (or Foxx) if Apple decided enough is enough and said "we will no longer have our products made in your country, China."

Hey Apple, come to Utah and build your toys here. We might not be as fast and the costs will go up, but you are very well off and you can eat the costs.

Not to get too far off topic here, but many in this country would love to get rid of those labor laws and return to the bad old days.
