I have a LG Optimus L6 running FoxFi successfully connecting to an iPad 2 for months. Apple upgraded to IOS 8.1.3 and now the mobile hotspot created by FoxFi fails. The most frequent message is: Incorrect password for "FoxFi55"
I don't know about Apple products....but I was using foxfi to provide a hotspot for my laptop and suddenly it stopped working sometime last year.
I'm afraid you might have to be rooted in order to find a workaround. (and IMHO, everyone should be rooted anyway! )
The way I am still able to have wifi hotspot is by being rooted and on a KitKat (4.4.4) based rom. All Jelly Bean based roms ceased to work for me.
You may have to search for a "user agent" if such a thing exists on an ipad...sorry I have ZERO knowledge of Apple product$!!!! For instance, in order for my internet to work, I have to use Mozilla FireFox browser and download a User Agent Switcher and then select either Googlebot 2.0 or Iphone to spoof MetroPCS into thinking its not a computer.
Hope this helps somewhat and sorry I also suck at explaining things! LOL
Yeah I don't know about iOS either but I do know that foxfi suddenly stopped working for me also. Bluetooth and USB modes still work but that is only for PC. In the all things root section there is a thread with working methods for every ROM but you need to be rooted.
That is incorrect. Here is the thread I was referring to which tells you how to use the WiFi hotspot on jellybean. http://androidforums.com/index.php?threads/809329/
I was using the WiFi hotspot on my f6 just a couple weeks ago and I was running jellybean not kitkat.
