FoxFi

Thanks for the info. Works now. I don't know how I should have known these steps though.
I'm assuming now that I will have to continue using the unlock pattern to access the phone.
Thanks again .

When you do the install PDAnet+ instructs you to use pattern. Yes, on the screen lock PDAnet+/FoxFi.

Hint in regard to your security screen lock:

1.On your Motorola Razr Maxx / Razr, go to Settings> "Security & Screen Lock" and change the setting for "Automatically lock" to 30 minutes.

2. At Settings> Security & Screen lock, de-select "Power button instantly locks".

Do the aforementioned and you will have minimal/rare headaches with the security screen lock.

My razor maxx worked fine with foxfi yesterday but today I got a pop up from Verizon saying to touch to set u tethering...
Anyone know what that means?
I don't want to lose my grandfathered plan....

It does not "INSTRUCT" you to use pattern, it GIVES you options of pattern, pin, pass code! I chose pin and it works JUST FINE on my phone with it!

I have run different versions of the fixed app and yes, with one or more of the versions "pattern" was recommended. With that said, I can tell you that some users were having lets say issues if they used use a pin number versus the pattern. Since my initial post here, mentioning pattern, a newer version of PDAnet+ was released / the newest version of PDAnet+ that went out yesterday which may have addressed the pin related issue. So, djclemon as the app versions change you will see changes.. as in pin now being mentioned and not just pattern. do remember posts here are days / weeks / months old, etc. and app versions change often..

I've nvr seen that before, but if u read the full descriptionon the fFoxFi app in the play store, it says that some phones may get a msg pop up from the stock hotspot app, and to just ignore it, as long as u dnt sign up for a tether package u won't be charged

And if you accidentally sign up no problem to cancel

Agree.

Before the FoxFi update, I added tether to my plan while traveling. I paid the $30 (I think) for one month unlimited, and cancelled it before the next billing cycle. I did everything online. Easy.

Hoping I don't have to do that with the updated app.

But Pdanet+ is confusing when I want to tether my PS3... would you be willing to explain to make it easier for a newb?? Lol

Basically, u nd to have downloaded the "free" version of fox fi as that is the actual working app that u will use as u have been, then buy the pay version and that just acts as a "key" to unlock the unlimited use without interruption! Just know that u nd to have both the free and paid apps, but the free version is the one that u will use!

djclemon..... Not being argumentative but I am only seeing "Foxfi Key" and "PDAnet+" plus listed as installed apps. I have checked multiple devices and the same with those. You are seeing something different? Would be interested in knowing for sure, so please check and post back here.

On Google Play you have the following Choices:
PdaNet+
June Fabrics Technology Inc

PdaNet Tablet (new)June Fabrics Tech

PdaNet+ (FoxFi) KeyFoxFi Service

FoxFi (WiFi Tether w/o Root)FoxFi Software

Are you saying you only need the last 2?

So using only the last two apps will get me tethering freely and somewhat unrestricted? ? Talk about confusing lol...

The very last app is actually the only one u will "use" the other app just sits dormant and simple unlocks the full version without the 15 minute time limit
