Help Freakin Kies and GS3

I got the gs3 about a month ago and downloaded kies and everything went just fine. Now I try to sync my music and playlists I created in kies and nothing shows up on my phone. When my phone is plugged in it says there is music on there and when I go though my computer I can see all my music files but in the phone it wont show any music files. What the hell??? Also I have tried to back up my phone on several occasions and kies takes HOURS...literally left it over night and all it every said was "preparing to back up please dont disconnect" Is it suppose to take that long? I only have a few apps and pictures, I have only used about half a gig of the memory. Im starting to get pissed off with this damn phone....switching from Iphone seems ok at first but Im having some serious buyers remorse.

Are you using the stock music player? you may find that it's saving your music to your SD card while your music player is only looking on the phone memory. When connected to your laptop is your music visible on the phone when you go through windows explorer to see the files on your phone?

I tried out Kies for a hot minute and hated it, I couldn't get it to work properly either.

I've always had a problem with trying to sync playlists to android phones with any software, sometimes the playlists come up empty, the tags are screwed up, or some music players won't recognize them correctly.

You have a couple different options:
When you create a playlist you can usually export it as a m3u file depending on what music player you are using on your computer. I'd recommend doing this anyway as it is a good way to back them up. Through explorer you can drag and drop (or copy and paste) mp3s and m3u files right into your phone.

The only problem with playlists is you have to have the songs on your phone to show up in the playlists, you can't just copy over an m3u file and expect all the songs to be there.

I use Mediamonkey, if you plug in your phone via USB, import the m3u playlists into Mediamonkey (or create them in mediamonkey)and then drag the tracks into your phone. Then you just have to copy the m3u files using explorer. You can also drag and drop songs and albums easily within MM, just don't try to sync playlists.
