Free App installed under multiple accounts.

The essence of the following is trying to workout how to ensure I don't lose data if I close an old gmail account.

The nub of my problem seems to be that my phone is registered under two different gmail accounts.

I am hoping the following doesn't read as being too complicated, so apologies if I have failed!

In summary, (these aren't the real names) I have:

firstgmailaccount@gmail.com AND secondgmailaccount@gmail.com as well as my personal email personalaccount@mydomain.com which are all registered with Google.

I started with my personal account linked to the first gmail account through google accounts, but have since removed it and linked it to the second gmail account. So I think a bunch of applications were installed effectively as firstgoogleaccount and another bunch as secondgmailaccount.

I am able to login to the android market in a web browser using all 3 email addresses, although it appears that if I login using my personal email, it actually logs me in as secondgmailaccount.

If I look online I can see that all my apps appear under secondgmailaccount but there is a small subset that ALSO appear under firstgmailaccount. On my phone however, I can only login to the market as either secondgmailaccount OR personalaccount (ie there is no firstgmailaccount login listed). Here the difference in that under secondgmailaccount everything is listed, but under personalaccount there is a limited subset (so accessing Market on the phone shows different results from the web when looking at the individual accouts, although the superset is the same!

If I login to google using either gmail account and look at the dashboard, under the Android section it lists my phone and also both gmail accounts.

The big question is - what happens if I close firstgmailaccount?

What I DON'T want to happen is for any applications/data to be removed from the phone. As far as I can tell there is no longer any reference to firstgmailaccount on the phone now. My hestitation is that google accounts still shows the phone as being on both accounts without any apparent way of removing it (I have revoked permissions under "websites authorised to access the account" to "Android Login" whatever that is).

If I login as firstgmailaccount online the Market still sends the apps to the phone - even though on the phone it's not listed under accounts!

I am just concerned that if I delete firstgmailaccount completely, Android market will decide to remove the apps from the device (even though they are still also listed under secondgmailaccount).

I guess the completely safe option would be just to leave the firstgmailaccount open and just don't ever use it "just in case".

thanks all
Mark
