Free Call Forwarding?

[ev1lchris]

I've been looking for a free call-forwarding service on the Internet but every site I find is a pay service offering a "free trial."

I was wondering if there are services that do this for free? I want to set up a number I can put on resumes without giving employers and potential scammers my mobile or Google number.

Depending on your phone, you could get another sim on a prepay plan for a while. Otherwise Google Voice was my only idea.

I don't want to give my future employer or some other people my Google voice number.

Actually, I want an area code that is location neutral and people can't discern where the call originates from by looking at the number.

I don't think there's anything that's really free. They're all pay services, because providing a phone number costs money AFAIK. And you'll have to find a service that offers non-geographic numbers if you don't want it to be identified with a particular region, city or province. e.g. 0845 in the UK, 400 in China.
