This sounds too good to be true, but that's the announcement. 200MB of data for free each month on a tablet. http://www.droid-life.com/2013/10/2...let-data-for-life-0-down-on-tablet-purchases/

And we
I think this could work well for T-Mobile. Yes, there are people who will get the free 200MB and be happy with it. However, what I suspect will happen (and the T-Mobile is banking on) is that people will get a taste of what their tablet can do with the 200MB and decide they have to have more data. Ultimately, I suspect that T-Mobile well end up selling lots more data plans -- and I'm sure they hope some of those people decide to switch their phones over, as well.
I plan on taking advantage of this, most likely w/the NEXUS 7.
I'm covered by WI-FI most of the time & the 200MB + the additional 2.5GB of tethering that I already have (free) from my unlimited phone plan from T-Mobile make this a no-brainer.
I've already got my LTE Nexus 7, but haven't hooked it up to a carrier yet. Now I'm really glad I didn't because I'll be hopping onto this ASAP.
Is there any way for a phone to qualify for this offer?
It seems to only be for tablets. I'm not sure if they have different SIMs for phones and tablets, but I'll be sure to find out once it's revealed when this whole thing goes live.
wow... 200MB.. thats an hour and a half worth of TV a month... can you imagine that.. being able to watch a watch an entire hour and a half of television. Good job you'll have another 30 days to lie down and recover from that awesome ability.
Has anyone tried signing up for it yet?
It's it live yet, I thought the promotion didn't start until November?
They're postpaid tablet plans updated for the on demand option, but I see nothing for a 200MB version for free on either postpaid or prepaid.
Although I don't find them particularly clear, these are the instructions to set up the free data on a tablet. Basically, follow the instructions to set up an account and do not select a data plan. Once your account is set up you will receive the 200 MB of free data every 30 days.
Personally, I just had a T-Mobile store set it up for me (though they had to look up how to do it). And, as a warning, there is a $10 "SIM kit" charge; I believe you have to pay it unless you have one of the SIM kits marked for Mobile Broadband.
Would anybody with this try putting their tablet's sim into a phone, and let us know if it works?
Is there anyway to sign up for this online?
The best I can find is the $10 a month on demand which reports indicate is t-mobiles version of free internet.
