Free LOUD Ringtones for Nexus 5

I am missing most all of my calls and virtually all of my sms because I simply cannot hear the announcements.

I am looking for FREE ringtones that are loud. Any suggestions as to what to get ?

Alternately, I am wanting to find some way of increasing the volume of my phone and I rooted it for possibly that if necessary, but my first need is loud ringtones.

If your device is rooted, there are software modifications that will increase the output if the speaker.

The ringtone doesn't determine how loud it is, so you may consider looking for something longer to give you more of a chance of catching it

Thank you but the reason I was asking about loud ringtones is that Mariah Carey All I want for Christmas at half volume is more than sufficient ??

Interesting, have you tried other music-based ringtones?

There are a number of free apps on the play store that will allow you to edit music files into a ringtone

Zedge app is what I am using and there are some fairly loud ones there.

In the past I have used Audacity to edit sound files to make them louder. It will also allow you to cut out parts of a song to make a ringtone.

no matter what I do I cannot change the SMS message tone to anything but what the phone came with but the telephone is now a nice airhorn.. I am still needing a solution for the SMS though as I am missing all of my messages.

Not sure about the Nexus 5 yet but on my Galaxy Nexus I use Lightflow from Google Play for my notifications. Highly customizable.

This is your second post on this issue. Go to Zedge/ search loud SMS/ scroll down to notifications ...test one out to see if it is " LOUD " enough for you. If it is download it.

Next... if you are using hangouts as your default SMS ( I used 8sms ) then go to settings/scroll down to notificaitions.... you'll see the default sound you have. Touch the default one...it will bring up a box to allow you to change it.

Then it will ask you where you want to select the notification sound from. Either Android ( ones that came with nexus 5 ) or Zedge. Select Zedge and select the notification tone you just downloaded. Back out and you are done.
