Root free service?

I read that people havent been paying their monthly bill and still getting service. how are you guys doing this? What rom did you start on? Which carrier? I have boost btw. Thanks!

I'd had it happen a few times over the years, back when I was still with VM. Unlike some others, I'd only gotten free data, no voice/text. It also never lasted for more than a month or two before being fully shut off. It seemed to be a completely random thing.

It's not that anyone is 'doing' anything to get this, other than not paying their bill. VM is just apparently lazy about shutting off phones.

Well I'd say its a tad bit more than laziness in my situation, I told on myself when I switched my # from my Tribute to my Volt & V. Mobile still didn't believe me at first. They kept saying it's impossible & that I must have been lying, but after further looking into it they realized I wasn't wrong! Anyway, bought my new Volt, transferred my #, than I rooted it, started flashing ROM's etc. My plan ended Aug.30th. Haven't spent a dime since, & I get 2 emails a month from Virgin saying my service needs to be replenished but that's it! Only problem I have is when I revert back to stock, I only have mobile data, losing texting & calling! I still say its something with the CM 12.1 ROMs cuz I had a CM 12 ROM for my Tribute when it started doing this for that phone too! Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinions but this is more than a mere oversight on Virgin Mobiles end, that's for sure, more of a security loophole!

I have free service but I use RingPlus as a carrier. They run promos all the time giving you 1000+ mins/txts/mbs of data per month and use Sprint or VM/Boost phones to work

I've had internet service but it only worked for certain applications. Whenever I'd use the browser it would take me to Virgin Mobiles webpage, so I couldn't go to webpages, however I got limited data service with certain applications like skype, spotify, etc. I could send messages to people on skype and as long as they were online when I did, it would send. And spotify worked perfectly, a little slow at initializing the internet but it works

Freedompop also offers a free service but ringplus is better in most ways. Ringplus is doing a lot more for free though, who knows... maybe freedompop will be around longer, but I have no idea how solvent either company really is.

Freedompop does okay if you are normally in wifi coverage, but voice quality is lacking (voice/texting can operate fully over wifi though). Expect only 400MB usable data per month at the free level. Voice quality sucks.

I can only describe the FreedomPop website as a tool of Lucifer, cast upon this world for the wrongs of enslaving machinery, then slowly building it a mind. You will understand once you use it.

RingPlus is more technically capable, they give out more data per month, and play ads before the other party answers to help recover costs. They offer voip interface to use over wifi, I didn't have luck getting it to work except over mobile data (may be local ISPs blocking? when it does work it puts freedompop to shame on voice quality). You need to keep watching their deals forum religiously to get a good plan when it springs up, usually with less than 24 hours notice. They had a good one going earlier today, and it had been more than a couple weeks I think since anything in the "nice" range had been offered.

Ringplus has given out plans as high as 4000 minutes, 4000 texts, and 4000MB LTE data, for only a one time deposit charge if limits aren't exceeded. They like to ask for various social interactions (post something on your twitter, post something in their forums, etc), possibly for promotional purposes, possibly to give them a route to weed out fake or mass generated accounts. Their voice quality is decent. The deposit can be used to pay for certain account operations, like requesting a new number or moving the line to a different device, as well as overages. It charges the deposit again if it runs out.

Their website is pretty good.

6 months or better for me for data. If I don't pay the bill I can't make or recieve calls and/or sms. I can, however, use data (lte & 3g) and send/recieve Mms. Also vm is not logging my data usage.

FYIW My Volts are using RingPlus on their free plans. One is still on an old 1500 Min / 1500 txt / 1500 MB per month plan they had for a one time fee of $15.
They offered a plan a couple days ago for 4000 / 4000 / 4000 per month for a one time $40 fee so I cancelled the old plan on one and replaced it with this newer plan.

Sound quality and coverage isn't the best. But for free, you can't go wrong. :)

Free now for a year on Virgin Data Done Right! I can't Believe it everyday myself! Never lost the # after a month or 2_of not paying my monthly $35 fee & I use plenty of 3&4G Mobile data every month & I use way more than 300 minutes! I'm not trying to brag, I consider myself thankful & lucky considering all the Smartphone I've purchased from Virgin over the last 4 years since coming from Boost which is basically the same service. But it all started after I flashed the CM12.1 last summer & I also had free service with my old Tribute after flashing the CM12.1 ROM for the LS660! When I transferred my # to my Volt Virgin couldn't tell I had been using my phone for free, they thought I was full of crap at 1st! But regardless it all started with both phones when I'd flash the CM12.1 ROMs, odd but thankful! Hope that may help someone t that is smart figure out why this is happening cuz it is mind boggling!!!

This would be almost impossible to replicate. As this only happens in rare occasions and eventually they shut it down.

If you want free service I suggest CellNUVO for sprint devices since Ringplus died out. It is based on ad swiping so you still have to work for your minutes, but it works for those who don't use their phone much.

I have a promo code for a waiver of the activation fee if anyone wants to try this just PM me.
