Free Stealth Guards for Nexus One - pay shipping only

Just received mine - I will try to put it up tomorrow.
Based on previous experience I would say you guys need to work with some patience, it might take a little while to put up every single piece nicely. So don't think it's a 10 minute job. If something goes wrong, take off and try again.
The beauty of it is really that all the little bubbles of air disappear after 1-2 days (... magic...).

+1 I'll want to see how everyone puts their on before I put mine! Now if you make a mistake...would it be easy to take it off? Don't want to ruin my Nexus.

lol HUH? lol

You mean what aquaitious said? lol You need to reread my post again if you took what he said as fact :P

<---see how he goes 'I'm joke' :P

Haha.

I received mine. And ordered five more and two for my iPod Touch. The only thing is...what kind of solution to get? I still have some solution left over from Zagg, which I'll use, but can anyone give some insight on what they've used applying the StealthGuard?

...as I feared when I read it came in an envelope.. no solution.
I've been had for 5$ -.-

What the hell should I use? =/

I was hoping for a little bag of fluid you'd have to mix with water or smth to be supplied.

Got my confirmation order yesterday but I'll be damned if they have me order a dose of spray-on solution as well!

I can't confirm but after a little Googling, I have read that the solution is a simple soap solution. A drop of dish washing detergent in a cup full of water, can't get the exact ratio but it sounds similar to what Clear Bra/window tint installers use to apply their product on cars:confused:

Can't be sure but it makes sense. Just make sure you don't use Windex as someone suggested on the web somewhere, you don't want to use anything with ammonia in it as it might damage/weeken the film.

No solution, no microfiber cloth, no press card. I don't think I will bother trying to put it on at this point.

Microfibercloths and creditcards out the wazoo here, that's not an issue in any case.
The solution is the problem (lol)

I have old solution from Zagg - but that's not the solution.
When that runs out, they advise you to refill the small bottle with water and the magical substance (yeah right) will come back to life.
Basically guys, it's just water- the screen guard needs to be wet to be applied.
Water might be the simplest solution to the solution.

i may take it to the mall and let one of those cell phone indian guys do it for 10 bucks (no offense to anyone)

I attempted to put one of mine on with limited success. I revived an old zagg sponge, and used that for application. The front has a pretty slick feel to it, and I don't think it will affect touch performance much. The back and sides gave mine a very polished look, almost like when you put a rock through a tumbler which may or may not be an attractive feature.

The back and sides seemed to turn out well enough, but either the solution was used up or something, but the front turned out terrible. If it doesn't clear up by morning I'm going to peel off the front and try it again, or else probably scrap the whole job. I'd offer pictures, but I don't really have any secondary camera...

Edit: Ended up reapplying the front cover. I used a solution of a drop of soap to the equivalent of about 3 cups of water, completely submerged the skin and applied like a contact lens. I'm going to let it dry overnight to see how secure it is.

Sighhhhhh, you know the saying nothing in life is free........

Well in my opinion the postage was way too much already for this product. If id payed for it i would of gone mad!

Cheapy load of crap in opinion, i couldnt even peel off the sections. The cuts are not properly cut and stick to to the 'frame'.

Ive used the proper ones with kit and their farrrrr better.

..............maybe im alone with my opinions or maybe i had 3 faulty ones,,,,,

I'd wait for berig to follow up on his post to draw your conclusions.
As for myself, havn't received anything yet except the shipping confirmation mail.

The second try was much better than the first, but there were a couple bubbles left. No finger prints or anything under the screen. Just as snakeybidder said, only the front and back pieces really fit correctly, the rest are a little smaller than they should be. I actually like the way the front piece feels on the screen, it has a small amount of give and is slick enough not to cause sliding problems. I'm going to try and apply it a third time. I do recommend the drop of soap and water technique, just make sure to wait for all of the soap bubbles to pop before trying to use it.

The incredible version I got for my dad wasn't much better cut either. Since the back is an irregular shape, only the large flat parts had cut outs. The sides on that version actually were meant to be applied on the entire sides which means it goes over the battery seem.

So got my envelope from the mail...shipping was only $0.75...why do I feel jibbed with the $2.85 shipping fee for each XD Still debating if I should apply it, lol. Seems awfully complicated :/

i feel you roze, i feel raped!

I bought several of these so I decided to go ahead and try it... I didn't use any solution at all. It's sticky by itself and adhere's pretty well. I just used some Alcohol free lens cleaner to clean the surface and put the guards on. It kinda looked like crap when I put it on last night but now it's looking pretty good (about 14 or so hours later). There are no fingerprints but there are a couple of tiny air bubbles that I wasn't able to push out (only on back battery cover), not a big deal to me but it might be for some. rounded edges and corners came out perfect. Overall it seems to have worked pretty decent without any solution at all.

StarMenace, did you dry the lense cleaner first? The video looks like they don't dry the solution before applying it.
