Somebody knows how to free WiFi teather?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
I have the "WiFi Tether" app on mine; however it doesn't work for me. I read and followed another post that someone recommended about the setting. But what I got was frozen screen and auto reboot after.. either 3G or 4G does the same thing
It probably has to be rooted.
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether
This is what I use, and am putting in the ROM's I make
Make sure you change the settings in the tether app to "Generic ICS" (Under Change Device Profile), and checkmark "Routing Fix". If you don't, it might not work
And if you want to use usb tether, I reccommened using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pn.helper&hl=en
All you do is install the app, install a tiny program on ur computer (spyware/virus free of course), start up the app, start up the program, plug it all together and BAM! Instant tethered internet (TO your computer FROM your phone)
I wouldn't go crazy on WiFi tethering for free though as Virgin Mobile actually charges for the service now and they might grow suspicious.
Most people think that the carriers look for data spikes to indicate tethering, it's actually much simpler. All they do is check for the user agent string broadcast by your browser. All browsers allow you to change the default string, just Google your particular browser, make the changes and any requests from your desktop will appear to have come from a mobile browser.
I dont think they check for user agents. There's quite a few browsers in Google Play that mimic a desktop user agent for people who don't want to view mobile versions of sites on their phones (like me). Even the built in Android browser has a Desktop View option, though I'm not sure what user agent it uses. I never view mobile sites, if I wanted a mobile version of a website I'd download its app, I'm always using desktop user agents on my phones. Even when I had an iPhone on AT&T, I used to jailbreak it just so I could get a user agent changer for mobileSafari. AT&T never tried to charge me for tethering.
