freezing and turning off

In the last few days my htc desire has been slower then normal. 2 days ago it would not power on and stay on so I shut it off and let charge today I turn it on and and it yurnd on and off I cant do any thing with it before it freezes and needs to reboated I cant power it off so I have to take out the battery each time not sure what to do my carrier says early up grade to far of

I don't know which one to advise you to check out. :o

In the meantime, do you think you may be having trouble with the battery? Does the phone behave the same way when you have it on charge?
