freezing Nexus 5 when transferring data from it

Is it normal for the nexus 5 to suddenly freeze and shut down when transferring 5+ GB of WinRar data from it onto my Win7 PC? I tried it on multiple Win7 PC's and the problem persists... I have the 32GB, if it matters.. please help, as I'm thinking I should RMA it now
 
Taking a long time to transfer 5GB? Could be normal. Freezing and shutting down? Not normal. Defective? Quite possibly.
