Help Friends GS3 not getting update while mine did

I got updated to 4.1.1 long ago, but i tried on my friends phone yesterday he is on same network as mine,

It said there aren't updated and he is still on 4.0

wonder why?

Also that I'm not confused that i will ever get to 4.2

Your friend may try getting 4.1.1 using Samsung Kies.

It will be a while before 4.2 is ready for prime time.
