Fring and Tango lag

Hey. Just bought an HTC Incredible S, and wanted to test out video calling. My friend has an iPhone 4 so we both installed Tango and Fring. We were both on wifi in our respective houses and he came through really quite smooth and clear, whereas I, according to him was laggy, and blocky.

How come? Is this a problem with Android to iOS? Is there a fix?

I'm sure it's not an Android to iOS issue. More likely, it's app compatibility with your phone. I can't comment on Fring, since I have never used it. However, using Tango on my Samsung Infuse works great to anyone on any platform. Tango on my GTab 10.1 though... not so much. On the tab, Skype is the hot ticket.
