From BB to Incredible

Wickens

Newbie
Hi everyone!

I recently switched from my old BlackBerry 8330 after having too many problems.

My main issue with the phone (aside from being on my 4'th warranty replacement because JVM kept croaking hard), was the fact that I bought a copy of PDANet and it just stopped working on my BB.
(FYI when I bought my new phone I emailed the PDANet guys and they switched my registration code to my Android free of charge!)

This really sucked for me since I work security and there's not really open wireless networks in the places I "work".

I almost didnt even get to make the switch when Virgin Mobile Canada told me my contract buyout was $380 (For ONE YEAR left on my contract). Fortunately a friend of mine bought hers out last year with TWO years left on her contract and got the buyout for $150.

After 20 minutes on the phone and saying such things as "Do I need to have tits to get this done?", I was able to get my buyout and HTC Incredible S for $170!

The first time I fired up my Incredible S, I was actually overwhelmed. I'm very accustomed to using computers and I actually do lots of audio engineering stuff for fun (Sonar, Pro Tools etc...) so I didnt think I would have any problems. But after an hour I was past the initial confusion hump, which I figured out was due to the un-intuitive blackberry OS.

In closing, I LOVE my new phone and I also feel like a bit of a bastard because I got all my friends into BlackBerry's after getting one for work many years ago. Now they're all stuck with inferior technology and I cant even bring myself to point and laugh at their phones.

In closing, I love my new phone.

Welcome to the forums! :)

Hehe, glad you're enjoying your new handset. If you want to poke fun at your friends behind their back here, feel free to do so.
