I have a hero at the moment, and my upgrade is fast approaching. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone from Hero to Nexus S and is it substantially better than the Hero? Also, anyone regret getting the nexus s?
I had a hero before the Nexus One and then the Nexus S. Each is a significant progression in my view. Benefits including:
Screen size (for accurate typing, larger picture viewing etc)
Screen quality (SAMOLED is beautiful)
Processor and GPU (overall experience is much faster, games for high end phones will not run on the hero)
Stock Android (if updates are important to you)
Larger storage space for apps (easy to run out on hero)
I went from a Hero to the Nexus S, and I was extremely happy with it. My Hero was getting pretty old. Games like Angry Birds would bog it down a bit, to the point that some of the levels were basically unplayable. I even had my Hero running a vanilla version of Android and overclocked to 768MHz.
When I got my NS, the difference was like night and day. My Hero would take a moment to open apps and scrolling would be a little laggy. Compared to my friends iPhone 3GS, which was laggy as well, I figured that's just how Smartphones were at the time. The NS is amazingly smooth and very quick.
Another thing that makes a big difference is 3G. My Hero was stuck on EDGE only, and it's really nice to be able to watch a Youtube clip without WiFi.
Right, i think im convinced now, been debating it for a few days, then for some reason got in my head that everyone had problems with it, but now I'm definitely going to get it, yay! Thanks for your help!
