Help Front facing camera won't focus

Hi All

Could you tell me if the front facing camera on the S3 should auto focus?

I don't get the focus square as I do on the rear camera. The focus appears to be fixed to around 5mm from the lens and tapping screen or taking the photo doesn't auto focus.

Only had the handset a week, so I'm trying to work out if i can resolve or if it's a fault and I need to return.

Ah, another one, my S3's rear facing camera did not focus (the one facing away from me, cunfusing lol), Carphone Warehouse replaced it for me, hardware problem, return it as soon as possible, do a factory reset to make sure its not a software issue

I believe it doesn't focus. It's not a focusing camera as its mostly used for portraits. It's not defective.

Mine also doesnt have an option to focus, the focus button isnt possible to active in front camera mode. I think also it is not a defect? What others think about that?

It should still auto focus. It's not a pinhole camera

I dont have that sqare,but picturea are good,maybe it has auto focus but you cant choose what to focus.

The front facing camera (e.g. for video chat) is fixed focus, not auto focus.
