Front-facing Camera

I'm very disappointed in the front-facing camera on the S5. Comparing it side-by-side to my S3 and the S3 is much better. The S5 is making everything look elongated and really grainy. I tried tinkering with the settings and different modes, but nothing helps. Any ideas?

This is from my s5 front came. No issues

My front facing camera also seems lackluster, but I haven't tried to take a shot with adequate lighting (like the example pic above). It was always indoors with poor lighting, so that might be the issue.

However, I haven't had this sort of issue with the phone I came from (Iphone5) in the same lighting conditions.

Bumping this because I am interested in this feature of the phone and how it preforms. Can we get some more pics and information please?

I can see what you're saying about elongated photos, but honestly it depends the angle you're holding it at. I also am coming from an s3 and see the difference but think the s5 is much better especially mp wise. photos are really clear and not pixelated like they were on my s3. but I definitely see what you're saying. I think it's because the camera is at the top left of the phone compared to the middle like most phones. also doesn't help that the screens long, which is why they're looking "stretched out"

I've played around with the angle I'm holding it at, if you're taking a selfie of just your face that's when it looks weird, just have to hold it a bit further from the face

lol yea that's exactly what I'm talking about. I'm over here trying to snapchat people and its making my face look like an alien. Overall the quality is much better than the S3 because it captures a lot more detail, but I don't understand why it looks elongated. I wonder if it only looks that way on the S5 though. I'll try taking some pics with it and uploading it to my computer to see if it appears the same way as it does on the phone.

I noticed if your face is at the bottom of the screen that's when it looks that way, you need to move the phone so that your face is centered or towards the top, takes some getting used to but its worked!

Yes I have the same problem. Even if I turn off the beauty mode it still gives my skin that airbrush and grany effect. :(
