Help Froyo enable data and wifi

Is it possible to enable both wifi and data on froyo.

It is really annoying to have to stop what I am doing, disable wifi, re enable data, send or recieve a MMS and then have to disable data and enable wifi, then pick up where I left off.

MMS should always go through without the need to disconnect from wifi. Mine starts up the cellular data concurrently with the wifi when I send an mms.

I use extended controls to disable and enable APN to save battery and normally it tells plese "please disable Wifi" when I click the APN toggle.

But all of a sudden it is working fine with both, pretty odd.
