Frozen Yogurt.

It just means Android 2.2. The stock right now for Galaxy S is Android 2.1. So we're talking about the coming up upgrade.

Well Frodo and Sam had a baby and they named it Froyo.

What Is Froyo?


It hasnt come out yet. It comes out this month, rumour has it that it comes out on the 23rd.

When it comes out. You will recieve a notification on your phone to download it.
 
Android team always use some kind of food name: cupcakes, froyo (frozen yogurt) and the next ginger bread. Very delicious on every update :P

To bad Europe will taste the first froyo on their galaxy s (sigh),
 
It's starting to feel like a final release, feels faster but will have to try some apps/games and see how it goes.

But some minor complaints..

GPS - Still not perfect, but allot better
Lag - Still using Samsung's dodgy file system, feels faster but why are they using it?
FM Radio - Mono only... why?
Memory - still can't see full 512MB of memory? why?

I don't think the Galaxy S or Droid/X will ever score high in quadrant CPU test, it's a little too biased towards qualcomm's processors.

Android needs better benchmarks.
 
dang had my hopes up this was the real thing only to be dissapointed it's a beta again.. why say it's here when it isn't?
 
Who really cares about FM radio app when you can get thousands of stations digital streaming in stereo through several android internet radio apps. Most stations stream over internet now anyway.

before you flash, backup all your files, media, apps, ect. and boot your phone into recovery mode and :wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and format internal sd-card.

if your using odin: DO NOT SELECT RE-PARTITION


if you do this you wont have any issues unless you have a simlocked handset

Yep, thanks .. I did all the formatting and factory reset before I flashed to JPH. I did choose to re-partition (deliberately, not accidentally) and it's all fine so far.

As others have mentioned, there were no APN details stored for Vodafone, but doing a 'reset to defaults' cured that one.

The phone definitely feels more responsive, but I guess I could be imagining that.

Good luck listening to the radio well travelling using the internet, your completely dependent on your network and it's just not reliable on the move.

Without having done much testing, just a walk round the block, I can say it's no better than JF3 and a LOT worse than JM7/JM8 :eek:

Battery drain on JPH has been a nightmare this afternoon since I flashed it. Fully charged at 2pm, just had to put it on charge at 7.30pm! :confused:
 
sounds just like I expected from the peeps at samsung.. can't they program things right? Also for me now the MTP application starting acting all weird to add to the so many problems Kies has already.. Now the firmware is supposed to be bad too? much to look forward to.. Samsung get your act together.
