froyo & Samsung captivate i897 does not upgrade

Been waiting forever for 2.2. Finally I get a post from AT&T. DL Kies Mini, installed, followed all the directions but NO LUCK. I thought this was supposed to be a simple 20 minute task. Does anyone know how to upgrade to 2.2 on a Captivate?
