Help Froyo speaker volume issue?

Ok, so I used the instructions and the update.zip to get an early upgrade. Other than losing the Memo program (which I replaced with ColorNote), I've been pretty thrilled. Unfortunately, I've discovered a problem, but it's a perception issue leaving me uncertain as to whether it's just me or what.

Has anyone on Froyo noticed that the volume level on everything, particularly through the speaker, is significantly lower?

I've checked all volume settings and since this is across multiple apps, it's not a setting. I even slept through two alarms this morning wondering what was wrong with me until I messed around with things today and made my discovery.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think so. Is there anything that I can do to force the phone to use a higher volume level than it thinks it can go to, like Spinal Tap, I want an 11 volume level...

Thanks!!

After I saw this post, I immediately went to try my speaker. It seems the same level to me, pretty loud IMO. Perhaps you should try to remove your battery and restart your phone?

Sorry for doubleposting but QuickSettings might work as well. It can adjust Master volume. Try that.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion. I checked out QuickSettings but it didn't give me access to any special volume settings and merely confirmed that all of my volume settings were maxed out. I'm just going to uninstall it.

I'm still very convinced that the sound, at least through the speaker, is noteably lower. Oh well, still interested in feedback from others...

Thanks!

I'm not well-versed at all in the rooting business. I haven't gotten over the fear of bricking my phone =P. If you lurk around the sdx developers forum, you'll figure something out.
