Lurker
I was informed by Bell that you could upgrade through Kies. I connected, backed up and then attempted to upgrade the firmware. After 30 minutes of getting the green screen of death I had to pull the battery. Now I can get to the download screen on my Samsung, but I can't connect to continue the firmware upgrade. I can't seem to get into recovery mode either. Please help. Thanks.

dude, if the update didnt come to you from your carrier, its most likely not going to be stable on your phone.
besides, some people dont even like it.
(idk why)

It was from my carrier. That isn't the issue. Some people may not like it, but that isn;' the issue either. The issue is I followed my carrier's instructions, went and did it through Kies and it failed, leaving me with a brick. So all I am doing is asking for help from anyone who may have encountered this issue before. I can;t seem to hard reset, I can't get into recovery mode and I can't reconnect in the only mode I can get into, download mode. Anyone have any ideas?

are you able to get to the boot screen. Back then, I kept getting the constant boot screen until I attempt the 3 button recovery, and did the factory reset from there.

Nope. The only screens I can get to are the download screen and a black screen with a small white icon of a phone connecting to a computer with a triangle with an exclamation point in the middle.

Ok. So rebooted the computer again. Took the battery out and stated with the power off on my phone. Then started Kies. It informed me the upgrade failed. Click here to continue. Click, then connect your phone by USB. On my phone, hit Volume DOWN->Home->Power all at once until it restarted and gave me the download screen. In Kies it will say it isn't connected, but hit next and follow the instructions. It will reinstall and reboot, all while not really appearing to be connected. It will take awhile to reboot and then you will see the samsung startup screen. From there it took another 5 minutes and then I was in! Yaayy!
