Froyo Users: A suggestion

I, like most of you, were underwhelmed with the Froyo update from USCC. On top of the battery life issues that everyone seems to be having, I noticed a significant decrease in available RAM (from 100-120mb free after a run of Advanced Task Killer to about 50mb after the update). This was causing the phone to seem really laggy and inconsistant.

This afternoon, I decided to take a few minutes and transfer all of the apps to my SD card that can be transfered, and I am VERY pleased with the result. I seem to have freed up about 40mb of RAM, and the phone seems to be running a lot smoother and faster. I just finished, so I can't say whether it makes much of a difference with battery life (here's hoping...) but it does seem to be worth the 10 minutes it took to do.

Until the browser issue is resolved, im sticking with 2.1. I have no problems with 2.1. no glitches or anything. I switched to 2.2 and HATED it because the browser wouldnt let me see what I was typing. No blank white text field would pop up like its supposed to. i tried the other browsers and it seemed the 2.2 update caused them to do it as well.

So I re-flashed back to 2.1 and haven't looked back. I installed Launcher Pro on it and now I have even more customization than 2.2

I would suggest re-installing the update, if the issue you were having occured across multiple browsers.

The customizations you have gotten from LPP will work in 2.1 or 2.2, so it isn't unique to 2.1. I like LPP much better than the Samsung TouchWiz, too.

I'm running 2.2, LPP, and do not have the text field issues you're reporting in any of the browsers.

@OP: The ability to move apps to SD card is a huge benefit of 2.2, IMO. A definite help.
