Frozen Tablet

I have a Samsung PT1010 Tablet and have loaded the Kies 2.0 software. When attempting a sync, connection failed and the screen of the Tablet showed a warning not to disconnect the device from the PC. I followed instructions for a failed connection and the driver was reloaded but there was still no connection. After waiting some time I had to disconnect and the Tablet has 'frozen' with the warning still displayed. My (Dell) PC reports no driver problems. Can anyone advise, please?
