Root Frustrated with internal storage.

Well, I upgraded from my S2 to this phone awhile back. Mostly happy, but the 4 GB of storage is starting to drive me nuts. I am rooted, and have tried any number of things to get app data shuffled to the SD with no luck. My S2 had 12 GB internal, and JB never griped about moving apps. Anybody have any way to help me, or do i just say screw it, and use my S2 again?

You have to use a third party app. KitKat security doesn't allow non system apps to write to the SD card, do anything that an app needs to edit has to be on internal storage.

First, you'll need to use an sdfix patch to restore permission. Then use an app like link2sd or folder mount to move your data.

That's not entirely true.

The KitKat restriction is that apps can only write to sd card folders that they create and own.

The problem is that a lot of lazy devs check, see KitKat, and claim it can't be done.

That's been a big driver behind the idea that sd cards are useless in KitKat. Not so.

Anyway, I agree, use the sdfix to expand permissions - but expect some apps to continue to fail with a permission error. It won't be real, they simply misbehave that way.

Wasn't a single type of error. I chased my tail with it for hours before giving up. Yes I gave it root permission. First it wants a new partition. Fine, I make a new partition. Can't be Fat 32, so I do Ext 2. Tells me unmountable. Same with Ext 3. Fine, Ext 4. Takes 3 restarts, but mounts. Every ap I try to move says no, create a link. Every time I try to make a link it fails. That was about the time I gave up.

Not everything has to be put on a second partition. External data and OBB files can go on the first partition. These constitute most of the size of an app. Try just moving those.
Or try folder mount.
I'm not sure what is causing your problem.

With LG Phones you will not be able to Move many things using Ling2SD,I am sorry to say, you just have to de bloat, and apps you do not use need to be uninstalled

What are you talking about? I've moved tons of stuff with link2sd. Like gigs of stuff. There hasn't been anything I couldn't move.

Do I understand correctly that even if u move app to sd card it will still save data to internal memory. On my phone it shows 3.93gb internal but 6.38 gb apps I couldnt quite figure out how that happens. Would total apps figure include apps on sd card........Been attempting download of folder mount but keep getting "495" download error

Bg4m3r can you explain in detail how you did it? Or link me to a guide? I've been trying for months, and nothing has worked. Those SDfix apps can't differentiate between the 2 internal partitions, and my sd card. They say they linked my sd card, but in reality it's just linking the other internal partition.

What are you talking about? I've moved tons of stuff with link2sd. Like gigs of stuff. There hasn't been anything I couldn't move.

I have over 160 user apps installed and all are linked to 2nd partition (ext4). ALL apps work just as if they are on internal storage. My SD card is 16 GB (9.5 gb FAT & 5.3 gb EXT4).
BTW, my screenshot is from LG LS660/Tribute which only has 1.5 GB of user available space. All OBB files are moved to 1st partition of SD card.
