Ok so noob here, i have an lg optimus g pro(980) not rooted that has recently started popping up full page ads. I reseached online and tried different ad detectors, tried looking at stopping suspicious running applications, even avg mobile. I caught a screenshot, maybe someone else has seen this... any insight would be appreciated.

That's a huge ad lol. Apps that do that are supposedly banned from Play so did you download the apk from a dodgy site?

It's likely you've installed some "free" app or game recently, that's got adware in it. Can you think what you've installed recently? Also are you only installing apps from Google or Amazon, or are you installing them from elsewhere?
I did try air push detector and it said i was clean. I also tried ad aware plus which also came up clean. I installed avg and scanned, nothing. Each of these i uninstalled after they didnt work. The ads will pop up when im not doing anything- usually when i unlock my phone to an inactive homescreen. Wondering if its from the play store. Running 4.4 btw and i dont really install any non play store apps. It started and i couldnt think of anything i recently installed.
The Play Store doesn't have full page pop-ups and has removed airpush ad-bearing apps from the Store as I recall.
