Full Picture Caller ID on Google Pixel Dialer or Just in the Circle?

Trying to decide on pixel. I like full picture caller id on Nexus 6P which i just broke. I've seen recent pictures and video of new dialer on 7.1 nougat but they all seem to show picture in just the circle which is very Apple-esque which i don't like. Is that the case or not when receiving a call from a contact that you have a picture for. Someone please let me know.
