Full screen size photo and preview time

Hi All.

Is it normal that all the photos taken with my SIII are not full size in the display?
Also is there anyway to get a few seconds of preview of the photo just taken?

The 8mp will not be full screen (wide) the 6mp setting should fill the entire screen.
8mp = 3264x2448
6mp = 3264x1836
