This might have already been posted on here...but I've been paying around a bit and have managed to get rid of the navigation buttons at the bottom using the default launcher.

I used the FullScreen Toggle app posted over at XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558) and then the Button Saviour app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey&hl=en)...works a treat so far.

Will test it for a couple of days and then see how it works on my Nexus 4 too.

the soft keys are pretty essential to me since the n7 dosn't have physical keys but if your concern about a quarter of a inch of space for viewing purposes that's alright

The keys are still there...just hidden away. On the first screen shot you can see a little arrow to the right of the screen. Pressing this will load up the buttons as in the second screen shot.

I personally don't think this is a good idea since you need those buttons all the time.

The buttons are always there. I've tested it with games and videos and the button overlay is always there for when you need the buttons.

What he means is its a hassle having to press one extra button each time and having them in an inconvenient position.
And I tend to agree, you're used to the position of the soft buttons by now and can use em blindly, which makes it more efficient. And for media they already disappear often.

Which brings us to a conclusion this is user's preference choice. Hey its a neat feature some people might want to try this out. Good find buddy!

It has the option to have the buttons on there as an overlay all the time too. Then you press the hide button to manually hide them when not needed. You can make them horizontal too to match the original buttons.

That seems more practical should you choose to browse in landscape for instance, although I tend to use the back button instead of the browser button.
