Fun with Droid at pub

I maintain a computer used by patrons at my local pub. It's a Ubuntu box (formally XP) that someone was discarding.

For fun, I installed the OpenSSH server on the computer and the ConnectBot SSH client on my Droid.... and proceeded to log into the machine from my phone and annoy my friends by killing Firefox, rebooting the machine and other obnoxious things.

A couple fellow geeks understood what I was doing, but everyone else was amazed I could control a computer from a phone.

Droid Does.... help me annoy people!

Hilarious and sounds like an awesome way to kill boredom. I did that with my computer at home and messed with my wife telling her my computer was possessed. She's not a geek, so she actually thought it was.

I got pretty good use this past weekend when going out to the bars. Went to visit some friends up in Chicago and we were meeting people at a local bar, turns out we got wrong directions, but knew the name of the bar. So I just pulled up the browser on my Droid and used Google's new "Near Me Now" feature and was able to get turn-by-turn directions to the bar. We were only a couple of blocks away, but would have never of found it.

Ever try to VNC over an SSH tunnel in connectbot? Been meaning to give this a go but haven't had the energy/time
