Just to give some advice and basic information to those new to root, custom software and modifications...
1. Know what root, super user, busybox, initd, scripts and so forth are and what they entail. Google is your friend.
2. Know how to use basic adb and shell commands. (See the thread/tutorial I posted.)
3. Always have access to a PC because there are simply some things that CAN NOT be done from your phone.
4. Always thoroughly read the OPs instructions before flashing anything.
5. Always have a backup of your last fully functional ROM/setup.
