The oval key was for the door, and the rectangle key was for the ignition.

I just bought a new truck and it doesn't even take a key.. much less two. Now if they can do away with the fob..

I'm so old that the first car I drove took a key.. but it did not start the car. You turned the key on and then stepped on the started button on the floor.

I'm so old that my first car took a key but you had to push it and drop the clutch in 2nd gear to start it.

I remember my first week or two as a 19yr old auto shop employee, and pulling a Saab out into the lot. I sat in that car for way too long before just going back inside and asking why I couldn't get the key out of the ignition.

Saab, in all their glorious wisdom made you put the car in reverse to get the key out (which, by the way was in the center console)
